First Centre for Reproductive Genetics in the Baltic States and Northern Europe opened in Riga
“We have achieved a lot since our clinic started its operation: new techniques and modern technologies including the state-of-the-art technical equipment have been introduced, but the greatest delight is knowing that we have helped more than 1,000 babies to be born over the two years,” Violeta Fodina, Head of iVF Riga clinic says. “There are no words to describe the joy when our patients have finally achieved their dream even in the most hopeless situations and become parents of the long-awaited baby born with the care our clinic and parental love. The newly opened laboratory will give us new opportunities and greater capacity to help prospective parents, and for many patients this will mean the true family happiness – and that is the main thing.”
More than EUR 500,000 has been invested in the establishment of the Centre for Reproductive Genetics, and it will ensure at least 600 additional manipulations per year. The opening event was attended by directors of health clinics and leading specialists, as well as cooperation partners and public administration representatives.
The key function of the new Centre for Reproductive Genetics is diagnosis of infertility causes in patients with a view to developing the most efficient and accurate treatment plan. The more accurate the diagnosis, the more effective the treatment course, which will contribute to the much desired pregnancy and birth of a healthy baby.
Furthermore, the Reproductive Genetics Laboratory offers a range of tests aimed at diagnosing possible risks in pregnancy and thus choosing the appropriate method of treatment.
